There are always good reasons to celebrate love, but your anniversary is one reason you don’t want to forget.

No matter how many years you’ve been together, an anniversary is a beautiful time to remember what you love about your partner. If you’re looking for ways to celebrate your love for this year’s anniversary, here are some ideas:

Make them smile with flowers

While you may be living busy lives, a simple way to show that special someone that you’re thinking about them is a rose delivery. Flowers can make almost anyone’s day—yes, even men. If you know your sweetheart loves roses or any other kind of flower, plan by making sure flowers get to your door in time for a morning surprise.

Book a trip

If it’s been a while since you’ve gone away together, your anniversary could be the perfect excuse. Whether you book flights across the globe or stay close to home on a mini road trip, booking a trip for an anniversary getaway could help you rekindle the romance that brought you together. You could surprise your partner with the trip on the day of your anniversary or plan a meaningful trip together.

Reserve a restaurant in advance

If there’s a special restaurant in your city that you know is continuously reserved but your spouse would love to go, plan ahead by making the reservation well in advance.

After all, you should know the exact date of your anniversary and have it on your mind long before the actual day. Avoid forgetting your anniversary and avoid a fight by using Open Table or Resy to book the restaurant right away.

If you are unable to get away on an affordable trip or plan some grand hurrah, a lovely night out with your sweetheart is just as great a way to celebrate your love as any other.

Throw a party with friends

If you and your partner share some great friends, why not get them involved in an anniversary shebang? While some people may not consider this a romantic idea with “just the two of you,” if you know your partner loves a good time with friends and loved ones, throw a party that will be remembered.

After all, people love celebrating love, so why not celebrate yours with the people who matter to you and your sweetheart? Whether it’s a relaxed event with a few other couples or a large party with your local friends, an anniversary is as good a reason as any to throw a party.

See a drive-in movie

If what you’re looking for is romance, with starlit skies and comfy blankets, you may be thinking of camping. Or, you could be thinking of a drive-in movie for a frugal date. Reminiscent of days gone by, we think that planning a movie night at a local drive-in theatre is a perfect way to enjoy some time together, forgetting life’s responsibilities and just enjoying your favorite person’s company while watching a fun flick.

In Conclusion

There are so many different ways to celebrate your anniversary. You know your spouse or partner best. Whether they’d love to go camping in the mountains or spend a weekend relaxing with you at home, plan a celebration that will have you both appreciating the love you share. An anniversary of your love is always worth celebrating.

  • We’ve been married for 43 years and share a bunch of fun hobbies. But celebrating anniversaries has always seemed like an occasion dreamed up by retailers and restaurants to generate sales to both of us. Every day is an anniversary of our first day together. Buying things we don’t want or need just doesn’t do a thing for us. Maybe when we hit 50 or 75 years married we will consider it.
